Terms and conditions
The terms on which we provide this website, and on which we quote, supply and install stone surfaces.
1. These terms
This website is operated by Stoneworks Projects Pte Ltd (“Stoneworks”, “we”, “us”) of 62 Ubi Road 1, #01-38, Oxley Bizhub 2, Singapore 408734. By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Where we have signed a separate written contract or quotation with you for a specific project, that document governs the project and prevails over these terms to the extent they conflict.
2. Product information and samples
Natural stone is a geological material. Veining, colour, tone and mineral inclusions vary from slab to slab and from batch to batch, and no two slabs are identical. Sintered stone is manufactured to tighter tolerances but still carries production variation between batches.
Photographs, samples and screen images are indicative only. Colour reproduction varies by display and by lighting conditions. The material you receive is the slab or batch confirmed at the point of order — which is why we ask you to view the actual slab before fabrication, and why we will not treat normal natural variation as a defect.
3. Enquiries, quotations and orders
- Prices and availability shown on this site are indicative and may change without notice. Nothing on this site is an offer capable of acceptance.
- A quotation is valid for the period stated on it, or 30 days if no period is stated, and is subject to the material still being available.
- A contract is formed only when we accept your order in writing or issue a signed quotation or invoice.
- We may decline or cancel an order — including where material is unavailable, where pricing was displayed in error, or where site conditions make the work unsafe or impractical — and will refund any sum already paid for that order.
4. Measurement, fabrication and installation
- Final dimensions are taken by us on site at templating. Dimensions you supply before that are used for estimating only.
- Fabrication begins after you sign off the template and the material selection. Changes requested after sign-off may incur additional cost and delay, and cut material cannot be un-cut.
- You are responsible for ensuring safe and adequate site access, including lift and staircase clearances, and for confirming that supporting cabinetry and structures can carry the weight of the material.
- Lead times we give are estimates in working days and are not of the essence. We are not liable for delay caused by matters outside our reasonable control.
- Unless expressly quoted, our scope excludes plumbing and electrical disconnection and reconnection, tiling, carpentry, making good of adjacent finishes, and removal of existing surfaces.
5. Payment
Payment terms are those stated on your quotation or invoice. Unless agreed otherwise, a deposit is payable before fabrication begins and the balance is payable on completion of installation.
Title to the material passes to you only once payment has been received in full. Risk passes on delivery to your site.
6. Cancellation, returns and deposits
Cut-to-size and fabricated goods are made to your specification and cannot be returned or exchanged once fabrication has begun, except where the goods are defective or not as described.
Cancellation before fabrication begins may be accepted at our discretion, subject to a charge covering costs already incurred, including slab reservation, transport and restocking.
7. Warranty and defects
We warrant that our fabrication and installation workmanship will be free from material defect for 12 months from the date of installation. Selected sintered stone ranges carry a separate manufacturer limited warranty of up to 25 years, on the manufacturer’s terms and subject to correct installation and care.
Warranties do not cover:
- natural variation in colour, veining or tone;
- damage from misuse, impact, thermal shock, abrasive or acidic cleaning products, or failure to follow the care instructions we provide;
- etching or staining of porous natural stone where recommended sealing has not been maintained;
- movement, cracking or failure caused by the building structure, by supporting cabinetry, or by work carried out by others.
Report any defect to us in writing promptly after you become aware of it, and give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and to repair or replace before other steps are taken.
8. Care of your surface
Clean with a soft cloth, warm water and a neutral pH cleaner. Do not use abrasive scouring pads, bleach or any product containing hydrofluoric acid. Porous natural stone requires periodic resealing. Care guidance we give at handover forms part of these terms for warranty purposes. Our frequently asked questions set out the essentials.
9. Website use and intellectual property
All content on this site — text, photographs, layout, logos and marks — belongs to Stoneworks or to our suppliers, and is protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may view and print pages for your own project use. You may not copy, republish or use our content commercially, or systematically scrape the site, without our written permission.
Do not use this site unlawfully, attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, or submit content through our forms that is unlawful or infringes anyone’s rights.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business or loss of opportunity; and our total liability arising out of or in connection with a contract is limited to the total amount paid by you under that contract.
This site is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free, or that all information on it is complete and current at all times.
11. Privacy
Personal data you give us is handled in accordance with our privacy policy and the Personal Data Protection Act 2012.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
